Election 2020 won't disturb peace - President Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed that the 2020 races won't aggravate the tranquility of the nation.

He said in spite of the fact that the political air would get "more smoking and more sultry", that would not the slightest bit dive the nation into disarray.

He said in spite of the adverse picture a few people posted via web-based networking media about the risk to harmony, everything was remaining in Ghana.

"We haven't separated, the nation is still in one piece," he said.

The President was tending to some Ghanaians in the United States of America (USA) at a supper sorted out by Ghana's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN).

The President is in the US to go to the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which is on the topic: "Electrifying multilateral endeavors for neediness annihilation, quality training, environmental change activity and incorporation".

The President who is one of more than 90 different Presidents going to the UNGA, will go ahead to address the gathering tomorrow, Wednesday, September 25, 2019.

Advancing Ghana

Ghana's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mrs Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee, in an invite address, said the mission worked at advancing the picture and vision of Ghana to the United Nations.

She said the facilitating of the Presidential supper was a yearly occasion which was one of Ghana's features during the UNGA.

She said the event was planned for bringing a cross-segment of the Ghanaian populace in the USA together to associate with the President, consider issues back home, just as recommit to the nation.

Authorities present

A few authorities who went to the supper incorporated the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchway; the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Alan Kyerematen; the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs Cynthia Maamle Morrison, and the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.
